The Northern routes have communities that are spread out, and harder to service than the Eastern routes. With that in mind, it would be conceivable that there will need to be more routes serving for everyone. Also a few routes will be split off, and others combined. This will require additional planning, and with many in the northern suburbs likely having automobiles, the main goal will be to connect to major locations, and serve those without an automobile.
Northern routes will be given the range of 3-4 + 30-49, + 93 and 94, and identified with the letter of N. There is no North Busway, so there will be no N1: North Busway. If there were ever the finances to build a North Busway, it would be underground LRT system to reduce the mess that an above ground line will cause. The North Busway will also support buses which will be important considering there will be a need for 1N: North Busway – Oakland.
