This section will go into the fare system of the network. All fares are paid when boarding with exception of free routes which this section will get into. The current fare system seems to be using 4 different systems which makes a mess of things. The first is a Connect Card, but this is being replace with a Ready Fare card. Why is beyond me, but I would suppose that PRT has money to waste on replacing a perfectly functional system. Next is an app that would provide a QR code which the rider will scan the app on a QR code reader to pay their fare. And then of course, there is cash.
Fares are $2.75. When paying with cash, it is $2.75 per ride. There is no way to get transfers for extra rides with cash. Riding the colored routes are however free. When using the fare card, it is $2.75 for every 3 hours. You can also acquire 1 day passes, 7 day passes, 31 day passes, and 365 day passes. In order to use these passes, you must have a fare card. Riders 6-12, and disabled adults will pay half fare as long as they have their fare card. Since a fare card is required, the $1.35 is for a 3 hour trip unless a pass was purchased.
